Moshassuck Quicktime VR (drag from side to side)
North of the winding stretch of river, the Moshassuck straightens out along the old Moshassuck railway. It is obvious humans redirected the river into a straight line to help with its use as a canal. The railway grade runs five feet above the water level (on the right bank from the initial view) on this day - making it near impossible to get a reasonable panoramic with both railway and river in the same shot. And yet, the rails looks identical to the stretch of track that crosses the river in shot 14 on the map - about a half mile north of here. Note the houses along a road that lines the left bank.
